Well-known Great Lakes cruisers are now unexpectedly forced to sell their beloved BLUE CHIP due to health concerns.  It has been owned and used by them for 33 years.  The boat has been in the Great Lakes since new and has always been stored there indoors.  It’s been meticulous yard maintained and updated through those years.  During those 33 years the owners have cruised it to the far corners of all five Great Lakes. The boat is in exceptional condition (2 new coats of varnish last summer) and comes complete with all of the amenities needed for the new owners to drop the lines and take off on their own adventures.

The salon has a straight Galley with two new Vitrifrigo 12v/110v drawer style refrigerator/freezers, a port side settee with a TV cabinet above the aft refrigerator. A propane 3 burner stove and oven sit next to the sink. This set up allow extended cruising and anchoring without the need to plug in. An L dinette with two heavy dining chairs, liquor cabinet and bar and a double helm seat are on the starboard side. The air conditioning unit was replaced in the salon last year. New drapes were installed last year and all cushions were recently re-covered with Ultraleather.

The aft cabin features a center line bed that was custom designed and upgraded to a full size 60” queen. There are two hanging closets, a separate head and sink to port and a full stand alone shower compartment to starboard. New drapes were installed last year. The forward cabin is standard Grand Banks. The V bunk cushions were recently recovered with Ultraleather and have custom fitted sheets. New drapes were installed last year.

The flybridge features fore and after dual seating with a very large L settee across the starboard side with a varnish teak table. The bridge is covered with a newer full length Bimini top. All the seats were recently re-covered with Ultraleather. The helm seat is boosted for better visibility. Under one seat is a 12v/110 cooler and a propane locker with two aluminum lay flat bottles in under the other. The boat has 18 life jackets, two boat cushions and a horseshoe buoy. The aft cabin top stores a 10’ Achillies RIB with a 15hp Yamaha motor. The dink is launched using the mast and boom.

The engine room houses twin 3208 CAT engines with 4240 hours. A hydraulic pump runs off the starboard engine to power the Naid fin stabilizers (don’t leave home without them). There are two 300 gallon fuel tanks with no rust, which provide over 1000 miles of range. Twin dual Racor filters allow instant filter changes on each engine and a fuel distribution panel allow complete control of where the fuel comes and goes. A Groco oil change pump allow clean and easy oil changes on the engines and gen set. The 6 gallon hot water tank is heated by engine heat and electric. There is the Westerbeck 8 KW generator with only 185 hrs. A 110v cooling water pump feed the three air conditioning units in the upper 3 cabins and there a 12v sea water washdown pump feeds a deck/anchor wash. The 8D battery cases were replaced with two custom built boxes to house 3 Group 31 batteries each (50% more power than the two 8D’s and a lot easier to handle). Two new isolation transformers assure that incoming power will be clean and all of your power stays on the boat and not leaking into the water around it.

The lazarette contains 3 new 75 gallon Polyethylene fresh water tanks installed last year. The tanks are filled by opening a valve from the newly installed dock water inlet on the bow. A custom table was added for additional storage. Also added was 450# of lead ballast to keep the stern down to prevent water ponding on the decks.

Electronics on the boat include a completely integrated all Furuno NavNet 3D Suite with 12” monitors, dual GPS input, 48-mile digital open array radar, black box depth sounder, AIS and autopilot. All units can display on the NavNet or on a laptop computer. The integrated functions allow you to set a course and have the autopilot follows it with the radar and ais targets overlayed on your screen. These functions are duplicated at both the salon helm and on the flybridge. Also, at each helms are two newer ICOM VHS radios with separate AIS capabilities. All 110v outlets are powered by a 2000-watt Xantrex inverter. Entertainment equipment include upper and lower Furoin? CD, USB and FM radios. An automatic in motion satellite antenna feeds a TV along with a OTA TV Booster. In the salon is a newer 40” Samsung smart TV with a Zvox sound bar, that is fed by the Satellite box, OTA feed or dockside cable. There is also a WiFi router providing boat-wide internet coverage.  All 12v lights were converted to LED.

Ground tackle includes a 45 CRQ Plow anchor mounted on the bow with 25” of chain and 300” of 5/8 rode. Additionally 150’ of 3/8” chain is stored in the lazarette and can be re-attached at the new owner’s discretion. Also in the lazarette is a spare 35# Danforth anchor with 12’ of coated chain. A Simpson Lawernce anchor windlass accommodates both chain and line for easy anchor retrieval. The sea water washdown keeps it clean. A storage locker with a teak seat is located in the bow. Included are 4 large fenders, four medium fenders and two 17” balls (can never have too many fenders when locking). There are 8 newer 5/8” braided dock lines, a few more ¾” twisted 3 strand nylon lines, 4 30 Amp electric cords, two fresh water hoses, a washdown hose. Plus, a large array of spare parts.

The boat is currently stored in Charlevoix, MI. To purchase or for more information Email: bluechiptravel@att.net. Thanks for you interest. We guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
