We’re planning a great summer. Please join us!
The McKeowns are looking forward to another memorable cruising season on the Great Lakes. We’ll “splash” a little later than usual this year due to some routine maintenance, but we will be making our way to the annual GLCC Rendezvous at Barkers Island on Lake Superior, arriving in mid-July.
Along the way, we have several special things planned, including spending time as part of the Lake Huron segment of the Flotilla. We’ll depart from Bay Harbor (the one in Bay City, MI) and head north along the Lake Huron shoreline.
From there, we’ll join the rally on Mackinac Island ( H-77) from June 22-25, followed by the Rally at the Soo (S-1) over Engineers Day weekend, June 26-28. Be sure to check out both events here:

Please continue commenting on, and updating, our Harbor Reports as you cruise to marinas and anchorages throughout the Lakes. Aboard Azure Mer, I am reminded yet again that the GLCC Harbor Reports are the lifeblood of our cruising planning.
This is a great time to update reports with any new or changed information. You, our members, make the GLCC Harbor Reports the best source of information about towns, marinas, and anchorages across the Great Lakes. Feel free to share updates on water levels, new restaurants, and anything else you find fun or interesting and worth sharing.
If you’ve found a new harbor or anchorage that is not in our Harbor Reports, consider sharing the information by creating a Harbor Report. If you’re unsure how to make updates or create a new Harbor Report, reach out to Julie Thorndycraft, Director, Log Book Editor, and Port Captain, at glccharborreports@gmail.com.
Our summer events are shaping up to be a lot of fun and full of great camaraderie. Be sure to check out the full event calendar HERE
I again encourage our members to get more involved in our Club. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a beginner, there’s something for everyone at the Great Lakes Cruising Club. Our programs and events offer opportunities to learn new skills, make new friends, and most of all, enjoy time on the water.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved and make a meaningful difference. We rely on volunteers for everything from organizing events and serving on the Board to helping update the website. By volunteering, you help shape the future of the Great Lakes Cruising Club and make a real impact on our boating community.
The GLCC is more than just a boating club. We’re a community united by a passion for the Great Lakes and a commitment to enjoying them safely and respectfully. Whether you’re a sailor, a power boater, or simply love the water, you’re welcome here.
I am excited for the upcoming boating season and the opportunities it brings. I encourage everyone to get involved and take full advantage of the programs and events the Club has to offer.
Have a great spring launch, and be safe out there!
