Women Who Sail Rendezvous #4 - BVI (May 12-19, 2018)

JThorndycraft - January 20, 2018

Women Who Sail is a group of women (14,000+ worldwide) who exchange knowledge, issues and support through a FaceBook group. I personally have found the group to be an invaluable resource on a variety of sailing/boating topics and have used the connections I've made in the same way we have used the Great Lakes Cruising Club.

This year the British Virgin Islands was selected as the destination for the rendezvous. After being devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, they desparately need business to return and help their economy. As the group always tries to 'give back' to the community we sail in, the BVI was the logical choice for this year.

Last year in Belize we selected the Placencia Humane Society and we filled the back of their vehicle with dog and cat toys, food, beds, crates, leashes and more toys than you can imagine. The PHS Board of Directors was thrilled!

This year we have six boats chartered with a mix of monohulls and catamarans. There will also be a number of Bring-Your-Own-Boats joining along the way. This will be my 4th rendezvous and I've enjoyed each one immensely. I've met fabulous women from all over the country and look forward this years trip. If you are interested in finding out more about the trip, please contact me at julie@circle7.net or go to https://mahalosailingwwsrendezvous.wordpress.com/
