Starting in 2021, NOAA began the process of cancelling its traditional paper and raster nautical charts.  This process will be completed in December 2024, at which point traditional paper charts will no longer be available.  However, recognizing that there was still a demand for paper charts, NOAA developed the NOAA Custom Chart Application (NCC).  The NCC is an online app that enables users to create their own customized nautical charts directly from the latest official NOAA electronic navigational chart data.

In this webinar join Lucy Hicks, acting manager for NOAA’S Great Lakes Office of Coastal Surveys, as she provides a tutorial on how to use the NCC Application, as well as give information on a number of other navigation products and services that NOAA provides.

Lucy Hick is the acting Great Lakes Manager for NOAA's Office of Coast Survey.  In this role, she works with pilots, mariners, port authorities, and recreational boaters to provide resources and services that promote safe and efficient navigation.  Lucy is also the chief of the Coast Survey's Customer Affairs Branch.  Lucy has over 20 years of experience in NOAA.
