Port Captain Introductions: Dale & Teena Lashbrook

We're very happy to welcome newly appointed Port Huron, Mich. (D-1) Port Captains Dale and Teena Lashbrook. Their love for boating began on their 20-foot Carver Son of a Sailor. In addition to cruising in the “Blue Water Area,” basically Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron, they trailered their Carver to places in Michigan such as the Les Cheneaux Island, Inland Waterway, and Traverse Bay. Those trips developed their desire to do more extensive cruising. Which meant a larger boat was needed, something they could “live” aboard. In 2003 they purchased a 24-foot Four Winns. They soon discovered that they would need a larger boat, one that would fit their extended cruising desires. In 2004 they purchased and completely updated a 1979 35-foot Chris Craft Catalina. This was the boat for them. It was perfect and would be Funforus, hence the name. In addition to regularly cruising Lake Huron, they have cruised the west side of Michigan as far as Muskegon, over to Beaver Island, Sault Ste. Marie and points in between. In 2011 they became members of the GLCC. In their opinion, a very good decision. The rendezvous, rallies, and annual meetings are a great place to meet Cruising Club members, who are always excited to share their experiences and knowledge.

They're looking forward to their new adventure as Port Huron’s Port Captains, so stop by if you're in the area!
