Let’s give our newly appointed Deputy Port Captain Scott Ross for Lorain, Ohio (E-13) a warm welcome!

Scott has been boating on Lake Erie with his wife Betsy and family since 1988. They have owned their current boat, a 1988 Marinette fisherman for 19 seasons and currently dock at Son Rise Marina on Sandusky Bay.

Scott is currently employed part-time as the lead port captain for the Lorain Port Authority. His duties include coordinating the Port’s tour and excursion boat operations. There they operate two Crosby 26 harbor launches providing a variety of tours of the port and Black River. He holds a 50-ton Master’s rating with commercial towing endorsement. His position with the port has allowed him to accumulate significant local knowledge regarding the port, river and its history. He looks forward to lending this knowledge to the position of Deputy Port Captain, so please stop and say hello!
