You don’t need a boat to be part of this year’s pirate-themed Lake Erie Rally —just bring your energy and show up. Join us, meet amazing people, and be part of the excitement. Your presence matters, and it’s what makes this event truly special.

Two years ago, our starboard engine wouldn’t start, so we drove to Port Clinton on Saturday morning, got on the Jet Express, had lunch on Put-in-Bay and then took the Sonny S to Middle Bass. Charlie and I haven’t personally stayed at any of these, so we can’t give a firsthand recommendation—but they’re definitely worth checking out.

●    The Lonz Mansion has been beautifully restored, and the entire second floor is available to reserve as one spacious unit. It features four bedrooms and three baths, along with a mini fridge and microwave (no kitchen access). It’s a great option to share; team up with two or three other couples and make a weekend of it. For questions or reservations, call 440-479-6615. Jane from Island Grind handles the bookings. You can also learn more or reserve online at https://lonz-mbi.com/

●    The following options are typically privately owned cottages or condos listed on Airbnb or Vrbo. Be sure to read reviews carefully to understand what’s included, as well as any notes about noise or a party atmosphere:

– St. Hazards Resort

– Middle Bass Lakeshore Condos

– JF Walleye’s Condos
