Colleen Wray, a long-time GLCC member from Buffalo, MN, is the illustrator of a new faith-based children’s book that has a boating theme. The book is Frog’s Boating Adventures -- Frog Finds Friends on the Great Loop.

This children’s chapter book, written by Teresa Lasher, helps young readers navigate big feelings, build friendships, and grow in faith, one journal entry at a time. Set against the backdrop of America’s Great Loop, the story follows Frog, a curious traveler aboard the boat Sanctuary. As Frog records each experience, children see how journaling can help them process emotions, overcome fears, and discover that faith brings peace even in uncertain waters.

“Frog models what every child needs to learn — to pause, reflect, and rely on God when life feels overwhelming,” said Teresa Janzen, editor-in-chief at publisher Abundance Books. “This book gives families and classrooms a gentle, faith-filled way to talk about feelings, friendship, and trust.”

Inspired by a real 5,778-mile voyage around America’s Great Loop, Frog’s Boating Adventures blends true experiences with timeless lessons. The publisher notes, “The charming illustrations by Colleen Wray of Minnesota bring the waterways and characters to life.”
