Lake Superior cruisers brunch into summer

After the May 17 Lake Superior Launch Brunch, a long-time member enthusiastically exclaimed: “Let’s do this again in July!”

That may be just a little too early to arrange, but based on the popularity of the 2025 Launch Brunch, there is little doubt it will be repeated.

The Great Lakes Cruising Club’s Lake Superior Launch Brunch was at the beautiful Port Superior Marina (S-192.5) at Bayfield, Wis. This was a new club event for Region 10. It was intended to just be a fun and informal event to get together with boating friends before heading “out there on the water” for the season. It succeeded beyond expectations.

About 50 adults and seven teenagers attended the brunch. Several of the non-member couples showed a strong interest in the club’s Harbor Reports, which were prominently displayed and promoted during the event. Some indicated they intended to join the GLCC to get access to the detailed knowledge contained in the club’s cruising guides.

The Lake Superior Launch Brunch was arranged and staffed by Director Jim Egensberger, Past Commodore Niels and Vicki Jensen, Port Captains Paul and Paula Lundberg, Rear Commodore Jim and Angele Passe, Director (Ret.) Bill Rohde, and Fleet Chaplin Nelson Stone.
