Now Available as a Recording in the GLCCSchool: Making the Leap to Distance and Overnight Passagemaking

dancline - April 3, 2020

On Thursday, April 2, at 8:00 pm Eastern/7:00 pm Central, Admiral Bayfield Award-winner Bill Rohde will be presenting a brand-new webinar on Distance and Overnight Passagemaking ... a class designed to provide participants with the confidence to undertake longer passages and sharply expand their cruising horizons. In order to make better use of limited vacation time for their summer cruises, Bill and his wife have done numerous 24 to 36-hour or longer double-handed passages on the Great Lakes over the years, plus starting in 2007 they cruised over 20,000 miles through all five Great Lakes, down the St. Lawrence, around the Maritimes, down along the east coast, and on to enjoy several years in the Bahamas and Caribbean before returning up north again, often doing 24 to 48-hour or longer hops along the way as needed. In addition, Bill has done two Caribbean 1500 10 to 12-day non-stop offshore rallies from Norfolk, VA, to the Caribbean.  In this class Bill will impart some of the lessons learned over the years which are applicable to both farther reaching Great Lakes and ocean cruising. If longer cruises are in your sights, whether under sail or power either on the Great Lakes or on the ocean, this just might be the class for you.
