Join Us for a Lake Superior Pop-Up Rally
We know it’s on very short notice, but an impromptu Great Lakes Cruising Club (GLCC) Lake Superior Pop-Up Rally is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6. It will again take place at the beautiful Port Superior Marina, Bayfield, Wisconsin (S-192). We hope to see you there.
Cost per person is $20.00 USD. Children under 15 are free. Please register online here.
Program
0900-1200 Brunch. We will again be serving pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and coffee. A gluten free option will be available.
1200-1400 Lunch on your own (if you’re still hungry after the brunch)
1400-1500 Seminar 1 Cruising in the Greek Islands by Fleet Chaplain Nelson Stone
1500-1600 Seminar 2 Safety and Cruising Roundtable
1700-1900 Potluck Dinner. NOTE BBQ CHICKEN AND BBQ RIBS ARE PROVIDED. Please bring a favorite dish to share. A cash bar is available. Note that outside alcohol is not permitted in the Lounge.
1900-2100 Bonfire at the Lundbergs’ residence on Co. J. If you’re able and willing, we hope you’ll bring your favorite instrument to play. Note the Bonfire is weather dependent. If inclement weather prevents a fire, the après dinner social get-together will instead take place in the Lounge.
We encourage you to arrive for the Rally Friday, Sept. 5 and stay for Sunday, Sept. 7 so you can visit with your GLCC friends and make new ones. Transient dock and RV/Trailer reservations at Port Superior can be made by contacting Kelly McKillip (715-779-5360) at the marina’s Ships Store.
Port Superior Marina is located about 1.5 miles south of Bayfield in Pikes Bay, off of Hwy. 13. Except for the Bonfire, all GLCC Rally events will be held in the upstairs members’ lounge in the marina’s large clubhouse, which is in the building just south of the Portside Restaurant. There is plenty of on-site parking available. Access to the upstairs lounge is through the double doors on the upper deck that connects the two buildings.
