Available as a Recording in the GLCCSchool – Up From the Briny Deep

Diver and historian Ric Mixter doesn’t do all of his research in libraries and archives. Sometimes he does his research the hard way --- putting on his wet suit, mask, oxygen tanks and swimming to the bottom of the Great Lakes to explore history in real time. Join Ric the Wednesday as he explores how the Great Lakes salt was discovered and as he dives on several wrecks lost in the salt trade.

Up From the Briny Depths is just one of two webinars Ric will present this season for the GLCCSchool. Last week Ric presented his other brand new GLCCShool Webinar – The History and Future of the Soo Locks. That fascinating webinar can be found the GLCCSchool Recording Library.

Ric Mixter logs thousands of miles each year as one of the most requested Great Lakes historians. From archive footage to new underwater images of shipwrecks, Ric’s moving picture library is unmatched. He has written dozens of articles and has hosted over 30 shows on PBS stations airing all around the Midwest and Canada.  He’s even been featured as an expert on the Discovery and History Channels.  Despite all his professional accomplishments, Ric says his greatest productions are his three kids, all of whom are certified divers.

Register now at the Great Lakes Cruising Club School.
