The GLCC’s Spring, 2018, Gathering in Southwestern Lake Michigan; April 28
Celebrate the Napa of the Midwest with fine wines from four states around Lake Michigan, on a 372-foot ship in Chicago!
Each wine, with its own distinct style, will be paired with gourmet regional foods of the season and served aboard the historic ice-breaking ferry, MV Abegweit, home of Chicago’s Columbia Yacht Club. Fabulous views of City skyline, Navy Pier and the Lake.
The world’s largest ice-breaker in 1947 when it was built in Sorel, QC, the Abby carried up to 19 rail cars, 69 autos and 950 passengers across the Northumberland Strait until 1982. Its last passage was 2,000 miles through the St. Lawrence Seaway to Chicago, where it is tied up at the foot of Randolph Street.
