The Lauren Harris sketch, "Old Stump, Lake Superior," sold for $3.5 million at auction. The sketch was originally done for one of the artist's most important paintings, North Shore, Lake Superior, which hangs in the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. Harris was one of the "Group of Seven" who achieved fame for their paintings of North Channel and Lake Superior scenes.
