A hectic two weeks of work is leading up to launch day, Tuesday, May 26, the day after Memorial Day. This is the latest launch for us in the last 25 years--the result of bad weather, GLCC weekend meetings, delays in parts orders, and other things.
Jade Moon is finally afloat after a long winter. We launched Friday, May 1st 2009, stepped the mast, and motored to the dock at EYC. There are still a few spring chores to do but had a first sail in chilly NW winds on Sunday May 3. Good to be sailing again.

Lake Superior Cruising - 2009
May 25th, 2009 (Memorial Day)
Vicki and I launched Freelance this past Thursday as scheduled. It was the latest we’ve ever put it in the water, but we have no regrets. Family matters must always come first.
The Founders Award is an annual GLCC member award for the best cruising log of a cruise on the Great Lakes. Many members have migrated to blogs or personal web sites for recording their cruising logs, and as a result, the club recently updated its award procedures to support this trend.
