USCG Buffalo is investigating  more than 20 Flares seen over Lake Erie, allegedly over Canadian water in the vicinity of  the New York  / Pennsylvania line. Story is here. Airstation Detroit, over 100 miles away, launched a search Helicopter, with negative results. Anyone with information about the origin of the flares is asked to call the Erie Coast Guard station at 814- 838-2097.
