Dogs At Wilderness Rally
We expect to have very limited shore access and it might not be possible to take dogs ashore for potty breaks.

We will not actually know the situation for shore landings with
dogs until we arrive. It may not be a problem. And if we find the
situation too restrictive, it is just possible that some (or even all)
boats might decide to move on to another beautiful anchorage after the
first day. (I'm not planning on that, but it is a remote possibility.)
Jumbo Bay would be nice to see, and it is not very far from
other nice anchorages, so one could come in, check out the situation,
and if NECESSARY, move to a close-by bay for the night (which would
not be large enough for the entire fleet). For example, the closest
would be Sturgeon or Bell Cove (on the north side of Great LaCloche
Island) which you will pass enroute to Jumbo Bay which is in the
northeast corner of Great LaCloche Island a little further east.
Other great anchorages are within an easy sail to the west of Great
LaCloche Island. Consult the GLCC Harbor Reports.
After the first day we will have morning radio announcements on
channel 78A at 8:30 a.m. so if you are in radio range you could get
the latest status and plans and whether there are any problems with
brief shore landings with a dog.
