Cruising Canadian Shore Lake Huron

We have done this trip a number of times in our 37 foot sailboat. Checking our cruise logs, it looks like we motor most of the time so winds were either light or not favorable for us to sail. We enjoy doing the Canadian side of Lake Huron. Very cute towns to stop and enjoy so if you have the time, take it. Recommend Kincardine, Goderich and especially Bayfield for the shops. They all have marinas that should be able to accommodate you. In Bayfield, we would recommend the Village Marina (Bluewater Marina) on the south side of the river. The only place to anchor is northerly in Stokes Bay but you should be able to bypass it. Port Elgin also has a nice marina with fabulous sunsets. Kincardine is known for its bagpipers who pipe the sun down each evening in the summer. On Saturdays there is a bagpipe parade where all the town comes to march followed by a concert. If you want to do that, suggest you call ahead for reservations.
As usual, don't start off with bad weather looming and enjoy the cruise.
