Chicago Mac Race Week - Round the Island Race.

MIYC will be hosting the Eighth Annual Chicago Mac Race Week - Round the Island Race. This regatta will always be on Wednesday following the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac. The race is open to all sailboats in the Chicago Mac Race and all boats in the Mackinac area.

The first warning signal will be at 1:00 EDT. The start line will be near the East Breakwall, rounding the Island to port, finishing directly south of the Mackinac Island Harbor. Immediately following the race, the awards ceremony and party will be held at Mackinac Island Yacht Club with food, drinks, and lots of fun. Prizes include brag flags and keeper trophies. The Madigan Trophy is awarded to first in fleet.

FREE dockage will be provided for participants courtesy of Arnold Transit Co. dock for the evening of July 15. 

The entry fee of $60 will include registration and tickets for the family and crew party.

PHRF Certificates

For all boats that do not have a current PHRF (Performance Handicap Racing Factor) Rating, you are encouraged to secure a certificate. The Lake Huron PHRF Association is the designated certifying body. However, if a boat has a current PHRF certification from another certifying association, it will be honored.

The cost for securing the certificate is 40 USD. The certificate will be renewed for free every year thereafter, as long as no changes have been made to the boat or sails, and the request is made by April 1. IF YOU DO HAVE A CURRENT PHRF CERTIFICATE, INSURE YOU COMPLETE YOUR REQUEST FOR RENEWAL BEFORE APRIL 1 TO WAIVE ANY RENEWAL FEES.
