25th Annual Lake Superior Rally
Bayfield, WI
August 17th-19th, 2012
$25 Per Boat
Guests Are Always Welcome!
This year’s Lake Superior Rally will be held amongst the beautiful Apostle Islands in Bayfield, WI, the third weekend of August. Bayfield isn’t just a cruising destination; it’s an experience. Boating into the islands from the open lake gives the captain and crew a feeling of intimacy and calm, surrounded not just by the beautiful water, but by the rock formations, cliffs, caves, forested islands and miles of sand beaches.
The official site of the rally is Pike’s Bay Marina (S-192.5), three miles south of beautiful Bayfield (S-192).
The marina wants to extend a special welcome to all GLCC members and guests by reducing their usual dockage fee to $1.00 per foot during the event. Pike’s Bay is a marvelous-full-service marina, and with Port Superior right next door, all your boating needs can be met there.
The near-by city of Bayfield (population 599) is charming and offers the visitor opportunities for shopping and perusal of its many treasures. It boasts two museums, two sail makers, many unique shops, an art cooperative, galleries, a recreational center, numerous restaurants and lodging facilities. In addition, it is the home of Big Top Chautauqua, hosting a wide range of musical events.
This fun-filled rally is officially scheduled for Friday-Sunday, August 17-19, but you’re strongly encouraged to arrive as early as Wednesday to participate in the many possible activities.
